Orifice Plate

Orifice Plateis one of the regulating devices that measures the flow rate of a liquid or gas in a flow line. It reduces the pressure and restricts the flow rate of the media in the pipeline. It is mostly suitable for the transmission of Hydrocarbons from one entity to another. Orifice Plate regulates the flow rate of media, so it is also known as Restriction Plate. The measuring accuracy of the Orifice Plate is based entirely on the quality of the plate. It is easy for installation and maintenance. The Orifice Plate restricts the fluid passing through pipeline and forces to converge and pass through the hole in the plate. This operation creates pressure at the downstream of the plate, which increases fluid velocity and a decrease in pressure of the fluid. Later the flow velocity reduces, and pressure increases when the flow is further away from the downstream of an Orifice.
