Orifice plate flanges are used for connecting pipes, valves, pumps, and other equipment within a piping system. Orifice Plate Flanges are designed to measure the flow rate of liquids and gases in pipelines and are commonly used with orifice meters. Each flange is provided with a pair of pressure tapings for differential pressure measurement. These flanges are available with ring type joint (RTJ) or raised face configurations. The orifice plate itself is a thin plate with a central bore, installed in the pipeline to create a restriction that allows flow measurement. Pressure taps on the flange measure the pressure drop across the orifice plate. Orifice flanges are typically supplied in weld neck, slip-on, and threaded types with raised face design.
