Austenitic Stainless Steel TP321 Seamless Pipes
ASTM A312 321 Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe is widely available in various sizes and specifications and is extensively used due to its excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and high-temperature performance. Grade 321 is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel, designed to perform efficiently in temperatures ranging from approximately 425°C to 900°C, making it suitable for elevated temperature applications without the risk of carbide precipitation.
Heat Treatment of 321 Stainless Steel –
Annealing (solution treatment) is typically carried out in the temperature range of 950°C to 1120°C, followed by rapid cooling to achieve maximum corrosion resistance and structural stability.
Stabilizing is recommended for critical applications above 425°C, where the material is heated between 870°C to 900°C for a suitable duration depending on thickness, followed by air cooling.
Stress relieving is performed at around 700°C for approximately 1 to 2 hours, followed by air cooling. It is important to note that ASTM A312 TP321 cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
Packaging and Delivery –
After manufacturing and inspection, ASTM A312 321 Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe is carefully packed to ensure safe transportation. Pipes are bundled and protected using plastic end caps, wrapped with plastic or steel straps, and placed in wooden boxes or crates. Additional waterproof packing is provided to prevent damage during transit and handling.
