ASTM A53 Grade B pipe is also called as ASME SA53 pipe. It is intended for high-pressure uses and mechanical purposes. It is also good for welding for various forming operations that is flanging, coiling and bending that is subjected to some qualifications. Testing of the pipe-
Hydrostatic testing is done for testing the pressure for the plain end and coupled pipe and the threaded pipe is specified. Hydrostatic pressure is maintained properly for all sizes of the seamless and electric resist welded pipe. The mechanical test is yet specified the tensile test; transverse is needed on ERW for NPS 8 or large. Sending test is for XS-NPS2 and STD, and under XXS-NPS1 ¼. A flattering test is done for NPS2 and bigger XS and STD.

Length of pipe-
The available length of ASTM A53 Grade B Pipe as a standard weight is in double random- short length 22", the average is 35" and in single random- 16"to22", jointers 5% and in the plain end 12"to16", 5% jointers. In extra strong or double strong pipe, single random length is- 12"to22". In double random short length is 22" and at minimum average 35".
