The API 5L L360 Pipe seamless pipes or tubes are manufactured by rolling a pre-heated billet between offset rolls to form a tube shell. The shell is then elongated through a multi-stand rolling mill to achieve the required wall thickness within a controlled diameter range. Final sizing can be carried out using a sizing collar to maintain the specified pipe diameter. For significant diameter adjustments, the tube may be reheated and passed through a stretch reducing mill to obtain the required dimensions.
The manufacturing process for welded API 5L L360 Pipe differs from seamless production. Welded pipes are formed from cold-reduced or hot-rolled strip, plate, or sheet. The material is shaped and welded to produce hollow pipe sections available in different sizes and specifications.
