Monel Alloy 400 Pipe Fittings
Monel 400 Pipe Fittings are widely used in marine engineering, hydro-carbon processing and more where they work under reducing conditions. The monel pipes are supplied in various cut lengths that can be machined as per the customer's piping requirements. The pipe fittings are suitable to work in harsh chemical environments due to their excellent resistant properties. The pipes are made of monel 400 alloy that is a copper-nickel alloy. This alloy has good strength and offers resistance to corrosion under alkaline and acidic environments. It contains compounds such as nickel, copper, iron, and manganese. The monel 400 pipes come in the variety of product range such as seamless and welded.
Monel 400 Pipes and Pipe Fittings (butt welded) is a standard ASTM B366 that comes in dimensions as per ANSI B16.11, DIN, and EN. The forged fitting is specified as ASTM B164 which is as per ANSI B16.5, DIN, and EN. The key properties of monel 400 pipe flanges and fittings include good mechanical properties, easily soldered and welded, high resistance to acid salts and alkaline, resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking, sulfuric and hydrofluoric acids and more.
Its applications are many such as valves, oil refineries and more. The bending radius for these can be 1D, 2D,3D, 5D,6D, 8D, 10D. the grade for these pipe fittings is alloy 400/monel 400 or UNS N04400 and Alloy K-500 or UNS NO5500. The butt-welded Monel 400 Pipe Fittings are either seamless or welded that undergoes radiography test. The high pressure forged pipe can be either threaded or socket weld pipe fittings.
