Carbon Steel ASTM A105N Flanges
ASTM A105N Flanges are forged carbon steel flanges commonly used in industrial piping systems. These flanges are manufactured from ASTM A105 material that undergoes a normalizing heat treatment, represented by the letter “N”. The normalization process helps refine the grain structure of the steel and relieves internal stresses that may occur during forging or forming, improving the overall mechanical strength and reliability of the material.
ASTM A105N carbon steel flanges are widely used for high-temperature and ambient temperature service in piping systems. Because of their strength and durability, they are frequently installed in industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical plants, power generation facilities, shipbuilding, and heavy engineering applications where secure pipe connections are required.
Product Specification
ASTM A105N flanges are available in several types including Weld Neck (WN), Slip-On (SO), Threaded (TH), Lap Joint (LJ), Long Weld Neck (LWN) and Orifice Flanges. These forged carbon steel flanges are manufactured according to international standards such as ASME B16.5, ANSI B16.47 and MSS SP-44. To protect against corrosion during storage and transportation, the flanges are generally supplied with black paint or protective oil coating.
ASTM A105N flanges are produced in various pressure classes including Class 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500 and 2500 depending on the requirements of the piping system. Each flange undergoes proper inspection and testing, and customers are provided with Mill Test Certificates (MTC) and inspection reports. For safe delivery, the flanges are packed in wooden cases, plywood boxes or other seaworthy packaging to prevent damage during transit.
