ASTM A691 9CR Pipe specification is covering carbon and steel alloyed pipe. It is fabricated through the pressure vessel quality plate; electric fusion welded added with filter metal for various analysis and strength level and is right for high-pressure services at greater temperature. Heat temperature might or might not be needed for attaining the mechanical properties that are desirable. These pipes are classified on the basis of steel grades and are designed in classes as per the kind of heat treatment done in pipe producing process. The steel weld is made automatically or through manually using the electric process that involves deposition of the filler metals.

Welded joints are having positive reinforcement on every side of weld center. A contour of the reinforcement is smoother and the metal deposited is fused uniformly and smoothly in plate surface. It is undergoing pressure, tension and bends tests. The unacceptable surface imperfection is removed through machining or by grinding. Depression after doing machining or grinding is blended uniformly in surrounding surface. Repairing of base and weld metal defects can be done through welding.

The type of standard is ASTM A691 1-1/2-1 4Cr, 91 LSAW, 9CR, EFW pipe and SAW. The grades are P91, 1-1/4Cr, 9CR, P11, 9, 2-1/4CR, P22, P5, and 5CR. Various class designations for pipe is 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 70, 11,21, 31, 41, 51, 61, 71, 12, 22, 32, 42, 52, 62, 72 etc. The size of pipe in seamless is 17-914mm, 3/8-36" and LSAW 457-1422mm, 18-56 inch. Wall thickness is 2-60mm. The length of ASTM A691 9CR Pipe is single, double length and customized length. Its surface treatment is bare, anti-corrosion, black painting, galvanized and varnish. Small pipes are packed in bundles and large pieces lose, covered by plastic bags suitable for lifting.
